The risk of participating in all those competitions is that most of the time your pictures are rejected. This can be quite frustrating and will not take you anywhere forward. The even bigger risk is that you might be tempted to try to “please” the jury and take pictures you think they might like loosing sight of you own intention and motivation for your work.
