Wilth-ahwa
is the old Germanic name of the longest river in Bohemia stretching from the southwest to the north of Prague where it merges with the Elbe. It has a long tradition in timber floating and became a national symbol when B. Smetana set it to music in his symphonic poem "My homeland". Since then the river's character has been massively altered due to a cascade of hydroelectric dams creating a new landscape thus opening a new chapter in the interaction between man and nature.
The photobook Wilth-ahwa is available here.
